Designer Paws Salon’s Bath & Brush package goes far beyond a basic scrub. At our Upper Arlington and Westerville locations, every bath is a full spa experience — premium shampoos, a massaging hydro-bath, hand drying, and finishing touches that leave your dog clean, soft, and smelling incredible.
Every Bath & Brush appointment at Designer Paws Salon includes:
Customize your dog’s bath with any of these add-ons. Your groomer will recommend only what your dog actually needs based on coat type, skin condition, and the issue at hand.
Most flea and tick shampoos sold in pet stores use pyrethrin or permethrin as the active ingredient. Those are EPA-registered pesticides — and while they work, they can irritate sensitive skin and are well-documented as dangerous to cats living in the same household. Cats can’t metabolize permethrin the way dogs can, and cross-contamination off a freshly bathed dog is a real risk. We chose not to use those products.
Our Flea & Tick Spa Treatment uses Quadruped’s yucca-based medicated flea and tick shampoo. The active is extract from the Mojave yucca plant, which contains steroidal saponins — natural plant compounds that act as a detergent and wash fleas off the coat mechanically. There’s no neurotoxic insecticide in the formula, no EPA pesticide registration on the bottle, and no harsh residue left on your dog’s skin. The result is a flea bath that’s gentler for puppies, senior dogs, dogs with sensitive skin, and homes with cats.
The Flea & Tick Spa Treatment is a $15 add-on to any bath or full groom. If you already know your dog has fleas or flea dirt, mention it when you book and we’ll have everything prepped. If we find flea dirt during your dog’s appointment, we’ll add the treatment and let you know at pickup so you can take next steps at home — washing bedding, treating the yard, talking to your vet about preventatives.
Routine professional bathing does more than keep your dog smelling fresh. Regular baths remove trapped dirt, dander, and allergens from the coat and skin, helping to prevent hot spots, itchiness, and that familiar “dog smell” that builds up between washes. For most dogs, a bath every 4 to 6 weeks keeps their coat healthy. Dogs with skin conditions, allergies, or thick double coats often benefit from a more frequent schedule — we’ll help you find the right one.
From Chihuahuas to Great Danes, we bathe dogs of every breed and size up to 250 lbs at both locations. Whether your dog has a short smooth coat, a long silky coat, or a thick double coat that sheds everywhere, our groomers know which products and techniques work best. We also handle anxious or first-time dogs with patience — just let us know when you book.
Ready to schedule? Book your dog’s bath online or call either location. Walk-in availability varies — booking ahead guarantees your spot. New clients are always welcome.
