CRITICAL WARNING: Why We Never Shave Pomeranians

We strongly advise against shaving a double-coated breed like a Pomeranian down to the skin (such as a shaved “Lion Cut”). Shaving damages the hair follicles, leading to Alopecia X (Black Skin Disease), patchy re-growth, or a coarse coat that loses its ability to regulate body temperature.

Bathing & Tear Stain Management

  • Bathing Frequency: Professional bathing every 4 to 6 weeks helps lift trapped dead undercoat and hydrates the skin. We use deep-moisturizing, deshedding, or hypoallergenic shampoos paired with rich coat conditioners.

  • Tear Stain Care: Due to their small skulls and shallow eye sockets, many Pomeranians experience watery eyes. Daily wiping around the eyes with a warm, damp cloth or specialized eye-safe wipe stops rust-colored tear staining before it sets in.

  • Paw & Nail Care: Trimming paw pad hair flush prevents slipping on sleek indoor surfaces, and nail trims every 3 to 4 weeks keep their delicate feet compact and healthy.
