Local Kerry Blue Terrier to Compete at 149th Westminster Dog Show

[LEWIS CENTER, OHIO] – Misty Gieczys, owner of local salon Designer Paw Salon, and her Kerry Blue Terrier, Anubis, are set to represent Columbus, Ohio at the prestigious 149th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this year. The dynamic duo will be competing against top dogs from across the country. This year marks the return of the event to Madison Square Garden after a five-year hiatus.

Anubis, a three-and-a-half-year-old Kerry Blue Terrier, is a seasoned competitor with numerous wins under his collar. Anubis loves to herd and has a strong ratting instinct, a true testament to his breed. He’s got a lot of energy and drive, but he’s also a big cuddle bug at home.

Kerry Blue Terriers are a rare breed known for their distinctive blue-gray coat and spirited personality. It’s not every day you see a Kerry Blue, so we’re excited to introduce this wonderful breed to a wider audience at Westminster. We’re thrilled to represent Columbus and the Buckeye state at this prestigious event. It’s a dream come true.

The Westminster Dog Show is the second-longest continuously held sporting event in the United States, after the Kentucky Derby. This year’s event will be held on February 10th and 11th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Misty and Anubis are scheduled to compete in the breed ring on February 11th. The event will be televised nationally. This will be their debut at the big show.
