Misty Gieczys IGCMS PTI

Misty is an acclaimed professional in the grooming industry, holding the prestigious title of IGA Certified Master Groomer and serving as a Pettech CPR and First Aid Instructor. With a grooming career spanning since 2005, Misty has garnered numerous accolades, including multiple Best in Shows and Best All Around Groomer awards. She has also achieved international recognition as part of the US Gold Winning Model Dog Team in Taiwan, earning the coveted BIS Creative award.

Misty’s expertise is widely sought after. She’s been featured as the pet grooming industry expert in Black Dog Marketing’s webinar series and has made multiple appearances on the popular podcast Women PetPreneurs. She also shares her knowledge through her own educational channel on PawsitiveEd, where she teaches grooming techniques and business strategies.

Beyond grooming, Misty is passionate about showcasing the versatility of Kerry Blue Terriers. She actively competes in conformation, herding, FastCAT, CAT, and barn hunt, and breeds with an emphasis on both performance and conformation. She also serves on the board of the Kerry Blue Terrier Club of Northern Ohio.

Misty’s influence extends beyond the grooming world, with features on American and French news broadcasts, Inside Edition, Animal Planet, The List, and the front page of the Wall Street Journal online. Her vibrant work with colored dogs has also been showcased in local commercials, documentaries and books.

Her achievements include being featured in a Double K ad for winning 2nd in their Rags to Riches contest and having her work displayed at the 27th annual Jack Daniels’ World Championship Invitational Barbecue. She is also the face of the Sav-Ur-Fur ad campaign in Groomer To Groomer which is a testament to her industry leadership..

Currently, Misty owns and operates two upscale salons, Designer Paws Salon, in Columbus, Ohio. Her significant impact on the grooming community is further evidenced by her many Barkleigh Honors nominations and her receipt of the distinguished IJA Creative Groomer Of the Year Award.
